Danger lurked right from the start. C.J. and Pam - police investigators assigned to the case - had more evidence to turn over than first thought. The closer they get to their answers, the more life threatening the events that occurred. Excellent series, like all of Dean Hovey's series...realistic characters and story - and noteworthy enough to grab up his next book. Susan D.

An interesting trip to a small town in a large county... Was this a hunting accident on the first day of hunting season or was the death a murder. The twists and turns are interesting. Much about retreading tires was learned and the convicts who worked in the shop are well drawn. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it for those who like crime stories done in subtle tones. – Janet W.
